Total Assurance, Inc. was established on January 5, 2004. Our purpose is to provide people with developmental disabilities alternative options about their supports and services. Our primary focus is for all participants of Total Assurance to live to their full potential. We are committed to the principles of Self-Determination and Personal Outcomes. We strongly believe that people with developmental disabilities are empowered when they experience independence in life areas that they haven't experienced before.
Total Assurance's administrative team has over 50 years of experience collectively. The owners of Total Assurance (Derrick D. Webb Sr. and Johanna M. Williams) worked in many areas of the healthcare industry. Many of their experiences consist from case management services, supportive employment services, supervised independent living services, HIV/AISS, mental health services, head injury and ICF/MR group homes.
Before hiring Direct Support Professionals (workers that work with our consumers), certain criteria must be required:
Direct Support Professionals must have experience working with MR/DD individuals
Work experience must be verifiable
Criminal background must be conducted
Physical Exam / T.B. Skin Test
16 hours of paid orientation
First Aid / CPR Training
Our goal for the Direct Support Professionals and our consumers is to evenly match the staff to our consumers' needs as it relates to their dreams and hopes for their services. For the consumers' family, our supports allow them to have time away to take care of personal needs or just to renew themselves.
We believe that the services we provided to individuals with developmental disabilities are life changing. We consider ourselves as being teachers and coaches as we strive to help our consumers to reach for success and independence.
